What is additive manufacturing?

Additive manufacturing at Orbit3D means industrial 3D printing as a production method: end-use nylon parts on the HP Jet Fusion 4200, digital inventory for repeat orders, and batches up to ~1,000 units without tooling cost.

Beyond Prototyping

Manufacturing Without the Tooling, Storage or Waste

Additive manufacturing flips the traditional production equation: no molds, no tooling constraints, and no warehouse full of spare parts. Your designs live in a secure digital inventory — eliminating the need for physical storage and excess stock — and become physical parts on demand.

Orbit3D delivers hyper-personalized, detail-oriented additive manufacturing from our Dubai Investments Park facility: functional production parts, batch runs and custom components with rapid turnaround, precision and durability every time. Founder-led, with a decade of hands-on additive experience behind every quote.

  • Digital inventory. Designs stored securely; parts printed on demand — no dead stock.
  • IP protected. Restricted file access and NDAs welcomed on every engagement.
  • Production consistency. Dimensional QC on every batch before dispatch.

FAQ

Additive Manufacturing — Common Questions

What's the difference between additive manufacturing and 3D printing?

Same core technology, different intent: 3D printing usually means prototypes and one-offs; additive manufacturing means production — repeatable parts, managed materials, QC per batch and a digital inventory. We do both, under one roof.

Can 3D printed parts really be used as end-use products?

Yes — nylon PA12 and glass-filled grades from MJF are production-grade, and many housings, brackets, fixtures and consumer products run in service today. We scope every part honestly by load, temperature and criticality.

What batch sizes make sense?

Additive wins from 1 to roughly 1,000 parts — above that, injection moulding usually takes over (and we'll tell you so). Bridge manufacturing covers the gap while your tooling is made.

How does the digital inventory work?

Your approved design files are stored securely with restricted access. When you need parts, we print from the stored file — same material, same settings, same QC — so every reorder matches the last.

Is our design data protected?

Yes. Secure storage, restricted access and NDAs as standard — we routinely manufacture proprietary and pre-patent parts.
