The First-Order Question

Resin vs PLA.

Resin vs PLA — which is better?

PLA is the budget all-rounder; resin is the detail specialist. PLA prints fast, is our most economical material, comes in every colour and is plant-based. Resin costs more and needs washing and curing — but resolves 0.05 mm features with near-polished surfaces PLA physically can't match. Size and price → PLA; detail and finish → resin.

What it isPLA: plant-based filament (FDM) · Resin: UV-cured photopolymer (SLA)
CostPLA the more economical · resin costs more per part — request a quote for exact pricing
Detail & surfaceResin: 0.05 mm, near-polished · PLA: visible layer lines
ToughnessPLA moderate; tough resins exist, standard resin more brittle
Eco profilePLA plant-derived, industrially compostable · resin is not
SizePLA — bigger plates and segmented builds
HeatBoth dislike UAE outdoor heat — that’s ASA territory

The honest recommendation: prototypes, models and colour work → PLA; miniatures, dental and jewellery-grade detail → resin. Undecided? The part’s smallest feature decides.

Upload the file — if the detail needs resin we'll say so; if PLA saves you money, we'll say that instead.
