Rapid prototyping in Dubai

From idea to in-hand prototype, fast

The faster you can hold, test and refine a design, the faster — and cheaper — you reach a product that works. That's the whole point of rapid prototyping, and it's what we do every day.

Orbit3D is a Dubai-based additive-manufacturing studio offering 3D printing and rapid prototyping services across the UAE. We turn sketches, CAD files and ideas into accurate concept models, functional engineering prototypes and pre-production parts — so designers, engineers and startups can iterate quickly and launch with confidence. When a design is ready, the same workflow scales smoothly into low-volume production.

With an in-house design team and four printing technologies under one roof, prototype manufacturing in Dubai doesn't have to mean long waits or shipping parts in from abroad. New here? Read more about Orbit3D.

What we make

Every kind of prototype, under one roof

Whatever you need to prove next — how it looks, how it fits or how it performs — there's a prototype for it. These are the types we produce most for UAE teams.

Concept & appearance models

Bring early ideas to life as physical models to review form, scale and ergonomics before investing in engineering.

Functional & engineering prototypes

Working parts in durable materials, built to be tested, stressed and assembled like the real product.

Presentation & pitch models

Polished, finished prototypes for investor pitches, trade shows and marketing photography.

Proof-of-concept models

Quick, low-cost models to validate a mechanism or idea and de-risk the next stage of development.

Fit & assembly-check prototypes

Verify tolerances, clearances and how parts come together before committing to tooling.

Pre-production & bridge parts

Refined prototypes and bridge runs that get you to market while production tooling is prepared.

Ready to make more than one? See how prototypes scale into low-volume production, or rebuild an existing part with reverse engineering.

The right process for the prototype

Four technologies, matched to your prototype

Different prototypes need different strengths — fine detail, toughness, flexibility or speed. We run all four major polymer technologies in-house and choose the best fit for each job.

01

FDM

Fast, economical concept and functional prototypes in tough thermoplastics — ideal for early iterations.

FDM 3D printing →
02

SLA / Resin

Ultra-fine detail and smooth surfaces for appearance models, masters and intricate prototypes.

SLA 3D printing →
03

SLS / Nylon

Strong, support-free nylon parts for durable functional prototypes with complex geometry.

SLS 3D printing →
04

MultiJet Fusion

Production-grade detail and repeatability — perfect for pre-production prototypes and bridge runs.

Materials & finishing

The right material for every stage of testing

A rough concept model and a functional test part call for very different materials. We carry a broad range and match each prototype to how it will be used.

PLA ABS-like PA12 nylon Tough & standard resin Flexible / TPU Clear resin
Broad material rangeFrom low-cost concept materials to engineering-grade polymers, matched to your test.
Functional-gradeDurable nylons and tough resins for parts that need to perform, not just look right.
Fine detailHigh-resolution resin for crisp features, small parts and smooth appearance models.
Flexible & clearRubber-like and transparent options for living hinges, seals, grips and lenses.
Finishing & colourSanding, smoothing, painting and colour-matching for presentation-ready prototypes.
QC & accuracyDimensional checks so every prototype matches your CAD before it reaches you.

Choosing a material? Our 3D printing material guide breaks down the options, and finishing is handled by our in-house painting & post-processing team.

How it works

From file to prototype — and back again

Rapid prototyping is a loop, not a line. Our workflow is built for fast iterations, then a clean path to production when you're ready.

STEP 01

Brief & files

Share your idea, sketch or CAD file (STEP, STL and more) along with what the prototype needs to prove.

STEP 02

Design & DFM

We check and optimise the model for printing and function — or design it from scratch via our 3D design service. Got a physical part? We 3D scan it.

STEP 03

Material & process

We recommend the right material, technology and finish for your test, then send a fast, fixed quote.

STEP 04

Rapid printing

Your prototype is produced on the best-suited FDM, SLA, SLS or MJF system — usually within days.

STEP 05

Finishing & QC

Post-processing, colour and dimensional checks via our finishing studio.

STEP 06

Iterate or scale

Refine and reprint, or move into low-volume production when the design is locked.

Good to know

Rapid prototyping in Dubai — FAQs

What is rapid prototyping?
Rapid prototyping is the fast production of a physical part directly from a digital design — most often with 3D printing — so you can see, hold and test an idea instead of only viewing it on screen. It lets teams validate fit, form and function and refine a design through quick iterations before investing in tooling or production.
How fast can you make a prototype in Dubai?
Many prototypes are ready in as little as 1–5 days, depending on size, complexity, material and finish. Because design, printing and finishing all happen in-house in Dubai, we avoid the delays of outsourcing or shipping parts in from abroad — and we offer rush options when a deadline is tight.
What is the difference between rapid prototyping and prototype manufacturing?
Rapid prototyping focuses on speed and iteration — quickly producing models to test and improve a design. Prototype manufacturing is about producing refined, functional or pre-production prototypes (and small batches) to a higher, more repeatable standard. Orbit3D does both, and moves you smoothly from one to the other as your design matures.
Do you make functional prototypes that actually work?
Yes. Using durable engineering polymers such as PA12 nylon and tough resins, we produce functional prototypes you can assemble, stress and test like the real product — not just appearance models. We'll recommend the right material for the way your prototype will be used.
Can you take my prototype into production?
Yes. Once a design is validated, the same workflow scales into low-volume production and bridge runs — so you don't need to find and re-brief a separate supplier when you're ready to make more.
What materials and file formats do you accept?
We print in PLA, ABS-like, PA12 nylon, standard and tough resins, flexible (TPU) and clear materials, and accept STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, 3DM and DWG files. No CAD model? We can design it for you or 3D scan an existing part.
Will my idea and design stay confidential?
Absolutely. We work with unreleased products and proprietary designs every day and are happy to sign your NDA before any files are shared. Your ideas are never disclosed or published without permission.
How do I get a quote, and do you deliver across the UAE?
Send your files or idea and the quantity via our contact page or WhatsApp and we'll reply with a fixed price, recommended material and turnaround. We deliver across all seven emirates, with collection available from our Dubai studio.
