Every year, around the second week of November, our WhatsApp starts filling up with the same message. "We need 200 National Day gifts. Can you do it by next week?"
Sometimes we can. Often we cannot do it properly. And I never want a client handing out a rushed gift on a day that means this much to the country.
This year the UAE marks 55 years since the Union of 1971, and the celebrations of Eid Al Etihad fall on December 2. So I am writing this in early October, while there is still time to do it right. Below are 25 gift and trophy ideas we have printed, or would happily print, for UAE companies. I have added real price ranges, the deadlines that matter, and a few honest warnings from our workshop floor.
Why 3D Printing Works for National Day Gifts
A mug with a logo is fine. Nobody keeps it.
A desk piece shaped like your own office tower, or a trophy carrying the exact colours of the flag, gets kept. It goes on a shelf. It shows up in photos. That is the difference between a giveaway and a gift.
3D printing gives you three things a catalogue supplier cannot:
- Any shape. Your logo, your building, your product. Not a stock item with a sticker on it.
- Small runs that still feel custom. Ten pieces for the leadership team or 500 for every employee, from the same file.
- Made here in the UAE. No shipping containers, no customs delays the week before the holiday.
Landmark and Heritage Pieces (Ideas 1–6)
1. Dubai or Abu Dhabi skyline desk piece. A slim skyline on a base, printed in white or matte black with your logo on the front edge. Our most requested National Day item every year.
2. Qasr Al Hosn or Al Jahili Fort miniature. Heritage architecture says "Union" better than any glass tower. Sand-coloured PLA gives a beautiful stone look.
3. Union House replica. The building where the Union was signed in 1971. A meaningful piece for government partners and long-serving staff.
4. Dhow on a stand. A traditional dhow, printed in fine resin and hand painted. Perfect for maritime, logistics and trading companies.
5. Falcon sculpture. The national bird, in a geometric low-poly style or fine detail. Pairs well with a brass-finish paint.
6. Palm tree and date bowl. A small serving bowl with a palm motif. Useful, local, and it gets used during majlis season.
Trophies and Awards (Ideas 7–12)
December is also year-end awards season for many UAE companies. Combining the two saves budget and makes the awards feel special. Our custom awards team builds these every year.
7. Logo trophy in national colours. Your logo extruded into a 3D sculpture, with a red, green, white and black base band.
8. "Employee of the Union" award. A tall faceted trophy with a laser-clear name plate. Light from inside if you want it to glow.
9. Long-service plaque with the number of years in relief. For staff who have been with you through five, ten or fifteen National Days.
10. Sustainability award in recycled PLA. If your award is about sustainability, the trophy should be too. We print these in recycled or plant-based filament.

13. Branded phone and card stand. Cheap per piece, useful every day, and your logo sits in front of the person for years.
14. Pen and cable organiser in flag colours. Four compartments, four colours. Simple and smart.
15. Custom keychain with name and logo. Our lowest-cost item for big teams. Personalised names do not cost much more.
16. Map of the seven Emirates puzzle. Each Emirate a separate piece that fits together. A small reminder of what the Union means, and a lovely gift for families.
17. Desk lamp with a skyline shade. A lithophane shade that shows a picture of the skyline when lit. People always smile at these.
18. Plant pot with a geometric pattern. Inspired by mashrabiya screens. Add a small succulent and you have a gift that lives on the desk.
Premium and Executive Gifts (Ideas 19–22)
19. Scale model of your headquarters. For board members, VIP clients and partners. Our architectural model team builds these from your CAD drawings or photos.
20. Developer project model in miniature. Real estate companies love handing investors a palm-sized version of the tower they invested in. More on our real estate work.
21. 3D-scanned bust or figurine. We scan a person or an object with our 3D scanning service and print a detailed miniature. Ideal for a founder or a retiring leader.
22. Shadow box with layered lithophane. A framed piece showing a company photo from your first year next to one from today.
Sustainable Giveaways for Big Events (Ideas 23–25)
23. PLA bookmarks with a flag pattern. Light, cheap, and made from plant-based PLA.
24. Seed bomb holder. A small printed capsule holding local seeds. Ties nicely into the UAE's green goals.
25. Event badge or lanyard charm. For National Day events with hundreds of guests. Fast to print, fast to hand out.

Tips to Get More From Your Gift Budget
I will not put numbers here, because every order is different. Size, material, finish and quantity all move the cost. What I can give you is what our best clients do every year.
- Design once, print many. The design is the one-time effort. Once the file exists, every extra copy is simple. Use one hero design and personalise the names.
- Go smaller, not cheaper. A smaller piece in a premium finish feels more valuable than a big piece in a basic one.
- Mix your tiers. Keychains or desk gifts for all staff, skyline pieces for clients, and scale models only for the board.
- Pick colour in the filament. Printing in coloured material saves the time of hand painting. Keep painting for VIP pieces.
- Order early. Rush jobs limit your options. Early orders get samples, revisions and better finishes.
- Ask for a sample. On bigger orders, always hold the real piece before approving the run.

The Deadlines That Actually Matter
This is the section I wish every client read in October, not November.
- By October 31: Send your idea and logo. Our 3D design team prepares the file and a preview.
- By November 10: Approve the sample. Always ask for a physical sample on orders over 50 pieces.
- By November 15: Final order confirmed. Painted and hand-finished pieces need this buffer.
- November 25 – 30: Delivery across the UAE. See our delivery details.
The UAE also announces official public holidays for the occasion, which you can check on the UAE government portal. Plan around them. Couriers slow down and offices close.
Can we still help after November 15? Often, yes, for simple single-colour items. Our low-volume production runs on a farm of more than 100 printers. But painting and premium finishes need time, and I will not promise what we cannot deliver.
What We Will Not Print, and Why
National symbols deserve respect. So we follow a few simple rules.
We do not reproduce the official UAE emblem on commercial gifts, and we do not print portraits of the Rulers without proper approval. We will not print the flag in the wrong proportions or colours, or in a way that disrespects it. If a design crosses one of these lines, we will tell you and suggest a better option.
Flag colours, landmarks, the falcon, the dhow and heritage buildings are all safe, beautiful choices. Most of the best gifts on this list use exactly those.

Questions I Hear Every November
What is the minimum order quantity?
There is none. We print a single trophy or 1,000 keychains. Price per piece drops as quantity goes up.
Can you match our exact brand colours?
Yes. We match filament colours where possible and hand paint to your Pantone code for premium pieces through our post-processing team.
Do I need a 3D file?
No. Send your logo, a sketch or a photo. We handle the design.
Can each gift have a different name?
Yes. Personalising names is one of the things 3D printing does best. Just send us a spreadsheet.
Do you deliver outside Dubai?
Yes. We deliver to all seven Emirates.
My Final Word
National Day is not just another holiday on the calendar. For everyone who lives and works here, it is a thank-you to a country that gave us room to build. Orbit3D started in a small warehouse with a few machines, and that would not have been possible anywhere else.
