Additive manufacturing for aerospace

Lighter parts, faster iterations, complex geometry

Aviation and aerospace live and die by weight, precision and lead time. Additive manufacturing answers all three — producing intricate, lightweight parts and tooling locally, in a fraction of the time conventional methods take.

Orbit3D is a Dubai-based additive-manufacturing studio delivering 3D printing services across the UAE. For aerospace teams we produce functional prototypes, custom jigs and fixtures, UAV and drone components, cabin and interior non-structural parts, and wind-tunnel and display models — engineered for strength-to-weight and dimensional accuracy.

With an in-house engineering and design team validating every file and an additive manufacturing line spanning four technologies, we match the right high-performance polymer and process to each application. New here? Read more about Orbit3D.

Custom assembly jigs, drill guides, alignment tools and protective fixtures built around your components and workflows.

UAV & drone components

Lightweight frames, housings, mounts and brackets for unmanned aerial vehicles, prototypes and short-run builds.

Cabin & interior parts

Non-structural interior components — brackets, housings, ducting prototypes, clips and covers — in suitable engineering polymers.

Wind-tunnel & scale models

Precise scale aircraft and component models for wind-tunnel testing, design reviews, tenders and exhibitions.

Lightweight brackets & housings

Weight-optimised brackets, enclosures and mounts for ground equipment, test rigs and non-critical applications.

Materials & finishing

High-performance polymers with strength-to-weight in mind

Aerospace rewards every gram saved and every degree withstood. We work with lightweight, high-performance polymers and composites and select the right grade for your application and environment.

PA12 nylon Carbon-fibre composite Glass-filled nylon High-temp resin Flame-retardant grade Tough / ABS-like
Lightweight & strongCarbon- and glass-filled grades with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio for demanding parts.
High-temperatureResins and polymers selected to hold up under elevated operating temperatures.
Flame-retardant optionsFR-grade material options available on request for relevant applications.
ESD-safeStatic-dissipative grades for electronics housings and sensitive assemblies.
Precision finishingSanding, sealing, painting and labelling via our in-house post-processing studio.
QC & inspectionDimensional checks against your drawings before every part is dispatched.

Material choice is application-specific — our 3D printing material guide covers the options and our painting & post-processing team handles finishing. Flight-critical, load-bearing and certified parts are scoped to your requirements; where additive polymers aren't the right fit, we'll tell you and recommend the right route.

How it works

From part or drawing to delivery in six steps

A clear, accountable workflow — including a route for parts you no longer have CAD files for.

STEP 01

Brief & files

Share drawings, STEP / IGES / STL files (or the physical part and photos) plus the application, environment and quantity.

STEP 02

Scan / rebuild

No model? We rebuild from drawings or 3D scan the part and reverse-engineer it to spec.

STEP 03

Material & process

We recommend the right polymer, technology and finish for your requirements, then send a fixed quote and timeline.

STEP 04

Printing

Your part is produced on the best-suited FDM, SLA, SLS or MJF system — single piece or modular.

STEP 05

Finishing & QC

Post-processing, dimensional checks and labelling via our finishing studio.

STEP 06

Delivery

Securely packed and delivered across the UAE, with low-volume repeat runs on request.

Good to know

Aviation & aerospace 3D printing — FAQs

Can you 3D print flight-ready or certified aerospace parts?
Our in-house additive manufacturing is polymer-based and is ideal for prototypes, jigs and fixtures, UAV and drone components, cabin and interior non-structural parts, and wind-tunnel and display models. We don't supply flight-certified or load-bearing structural parts as a standard service — for airworthiness-critical or certified components we'll discuss your requirements and advise the right route, including any material documentation you need.
Do you 3D print metal aerospace parts?
Our processes are high-performance polymer additive manufacturing — engineering nylons, carbon-fibre composites and high-temperature or flame-retardant resins — which are excellent for prototypes, tooling, UAV parts, interior components and models. For metal or structural end-use parts we assess the application and advise the right route rather than supplying a part that isn't suited to it.
What lightweight or high-temperature materials do you offer?
We work with PA12 and carbon- or glass-filled nylons for an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, plus high-temperature and flame-retardant resin options on request. The best choice depends on loads, temperature and environment — our material guide covers the options and we'll recommend a grade for your application.
Can you make UAV and drone parts?
Yes — lightweight frames, housings, mounts, brackets and enclosures for unmanned aerial vehicles are a strong fit for additive manufacturing. We produce functional prototypes and short production runs, and can help refine the design for printability and weight.
What tolerances can you achieve?
Achievable tolerances depend on the technology, material and geometry but are typically in the region of a few tenths of a millimetre. For parts with critical fits, share the tolerances on your drawing and we'll confirm what's achievable before printing.
Can you protect confidential or sensitive designs?
Absolutely. We routinely work with proprietary and sensitive designs and are happy to sign your NDA before any files are shared. Your designs are never published without permission, and we're glad to discuss any specific handling requirements for your project.
Do you deliver across the UAE?
Yes — we deliver across all seven emirates including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, with parts quality-checked and securely packed for transit. We can coordinate delivery to your facility.
How do I get a quote for an aerospace part?
Send your files or the physical part, the quantity and the application via our contact page or WhatsApp, and we'll reply with a fixed price, recommended material and timeline.
